2005 - Alonso First World Championship Brazil / Interlagos Circuit. It was the third last race of the 2005 season and Alonso entered the race leading the standings on 111 points. Kimi Raikkonen also went into the September showdown with a chance of claiming the title and gave himself a good chance by finishing second behind Juan Pablo Montoya. However, Renault's Alonso rounded out the podium to take third spot and ensure him a maiden world crown.
