About this horse sculpture:
Shelter is an emotional sculpture, and explores a subject close to my heart, with years of experience from a very young age riding horses. I always felt a connection to their gentle nature and wisdom.
‘Shelter’ is a horse sculpture which represents that one of a kind friendship between horse and rider. The horse being a guardian to the vulnerable child who in turn offers the horse a new lease of life and freedom.
This beautiful bond between humans and animals stretches across space and time as portrayed by the historical clothes of the child in this small sculpture.
ROXY's ARTIST STATEMENT:
“As a young professional artist, I am passionate about creating sculptures that capture the essence of animals in a unique and endearing way. My focus on animals allows me to express my love for nature and wildlife in my artwork, and I work in bronze because of its timeless beauty and durability.
My sculptures are meant to induce feelings of joy and warmth, and I strive to bring an individual personality to my pieces. I believe that art has the power to bring people together and to evoke emotions, and I aim to use my sculptures to bring a smile to people’s faces and to brighten up their day.
I have also donated pieces to charity in order to help raise funds and awareness, this is something I am passionate about continuing to do.”
